Which of your gold sheet suitable for enamelling?

Enamelling requires a minimum temperature of 800°C, so ideally the metal base used should be of a higher carat gold, fine silver, copper, and brass alloys that have a maximum of 5% Zinc. Gold expands only slightly when heated, a factor that helps secure the glass layer to the metal base. In addition, the rich colour of Gold provides a suitable visual environment for coloured glass."
Our 18ct Yellow and White sheet (eg CLA and CLE) do not contain Zinc, making them suitable for enamelling
Regrettably our standard 9ct White and Yellow Gold sheets (CAA and CAR) contain more than 5 % Zinc so should not be used, instead we would advise using CAT and CAJ as these contain less than 1% Zinc.
